James T. Mayes III, MDDr. Mayes graduated medical school at the University of Chicago in 1979. He completed residency training at the University of Illinois/Cook County Hospital in Chicago in 1986.

J.R. Salameh, MDDr. J. R. Salameh is a Board-certified general surgeon and a fellowship trained laparoendoscopic surgery specialist. He is the current Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Virginia Hospital Center. After obtaining his M.D. from Saint Joseph University (Beirut, Lebanon), Dr. Salameh did his General Surgery training at Georgetown University (Washington, DC) and then completed a Laparoscopic/Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, Texas). Jenna Christina, RD

Zeina Hamra, RD, LDN

Jenna is our Registered Dietitian. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors of Science in Dietetics and completed a Medical Nutrition Therapy internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. She has worked with a broad spectrum of clients including children, adults, pregnant/postpartum women, geriatrics, and overweight/obese individuals. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association and Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group. Her goal is to help people be as healthy as possible through proper nutrition, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

Michelle Laputz, RN

Michelle Laputz, RNMichelle is our Bariatric Surgery Coordinator. She works to help educate our patients prior to and following surgery. She assists in appointment scheduling, phone triage and organizing all paperwork for insurance review in preparation for bariatric surgery. She organizes our seminars and runs our postoperative support groups. She is a very knowledgeable and compassionate nurse with years of clinical and administrative experience. She is a member of the National Association of Bariatric Nurses.

Monica Garey

Monica GareyMonica is the helpful and friendly voice you hear when you call our office. She is our receptionist and also does all the office scheduling, insurance verification and billing. She has a lot of prior experience in healthcare. She will go out of her way to make your office visit smooth and comfortable.
