Surgical Associates specialize in Digestive Surgery and Surgical Oncology. Our Cancer Center is a winner of the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Commission on Cancer, a program of the American College of Surgeons. We treat all tumors of the gastrointestinal tract including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon and rectal cancers.

Colon and rectal cancers are the most common; oncologic surgical resection remains the most critical step in order to achieve long term survival and cure. Cure can sometimes be achieved if certain tumors have spread to the liver or other organs (stage IV).

At Surgical Associates, we adopt an aggressive approach to the treatment of all gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. Our multidiscipilinary team which includes surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologist and gastrointestinal physicians, meet on regular basis to discuss cases and recommend the best possible treatment plan for an individual patient. We also have extensive experience and subspecialty training in minimally invasive resection (laparoscopy) of tumors whenever it is feasible.
